10mm LED Bulbs

by Rachel on September 2, 2010

10mm LED bulbs are one of the most popular LED bulbs on the market today. There are other LED bulbs available for a variety of uses, including 3mm LED’s, 5mm LED’s, and 8mm LED’s, but 10mm LED’s are the largest and tend to be the bulb of choice for home and commercial applications.

LED bulbs have a number of advantages over other types of bulbs. Unlike traditional bulbs, LED bulbs are extremely economical to use and they are considerably more efficient than rival bulbs. Many people believe that a fluorescent bulb is one of the most efficient bulbs on the market, but in fact the LED bulb is twice as efficient.

An LED bulb operates at an extremely low voltage, require virtually no energy to run, and most ordinary batteries will run LED lights. Battery power makes LED lights extremely versatile and they can be used around the home and garden in a variety of locations, as they do not require mains voltage.

10mm LED bulbs, like other LED bulbs, last for a very long time. Many other types of bulb have an internal filament that has a propensity to burn out over time, thus necessitating the bulb’s replacement. LED bulbs do not have a filament and therefore there are no components to burn out. Unless the LED bulb is used regularly, it is quite likely to last forever, which is more than can be said for other types of bulb, including fluorescent bulbs.

Not only are LED bulbs very energy efficient, they are also ecologically friendly as they contain no mercury, lead, or other harmful chemical substances. If you are conscious of the environment, but you enjoy attractive lighting around your home, LED bulbs are the best way to combine the two. Not only can you reduce your carbon footprint by using virtually no energy to power your lights, but you can enjoy a bulb that does not harm the environment in any way whatsoever.

10mm white LED light bulbs give off a warm white light with no discernible flicker. White LED bulbs are ideal for use around the home, but they are particularly suitable for when you need a bulb for use in a wall light or desk light, as they do not strain the eyes like some other types of light bulb. They can also be used as spot lights for ceiling illumination as well as light fittings in kitchens and bathrooms.

10mm diffused LED bulbs can be used in many different indoor and outdoor lighting applications. LED lights are popular in the garden as they can be installed in very inaccessible parts of the garden where there isn’t an electricity supply. LED lights give out very little heat during operation and they are especially suitable for water environments. LED lights can also be installed in floors, whether outside on the patio, or indoors in your stairs.

For any lighting around the home, LED bulbs can provide safe, bright illumination. They make the ideal replacement for any old fashioned incandescent bulbs or fluorescent bulbs.
