Fireplaces are often remained in home interiors because of their aesthetic value. Many people don't use them as a fireplace anymore because a fireplace brings in a lot of dirt and off course has some safety issues. Many homes also don't have the facility anymore because the air shaft has been removed in order to create more space. You can decide to completely remove your fireplace but you can also decide to give it a different meaning and make use of it's authentic value. A great way to showcase it is by placing fireplace candles in to the mantle.

If you do not decorate it in, your fireplace is going to look a bit boring because it is a large empty space that contains nothing. You can decorate it in many ways and placing candles in to your fireplace is a great way to resemble it's original function. You can also put a nice rug aside to it to create a romantic or cozy place to relax or to enjoy each others company.

Fireplace Candles

Decorating your fireplace is not that difficult. If you want to keep it simple than you can just decide to place a one or two tea light holders which will already create a nice effect. How many candle holders you want to use will depend on the size of you fireplace and the size of the candles you are going to use. If you want to use large candles instead of tea lights than one might also be enough. On the left you see how you can decorate your fireplace with rustic candles. If you think this is a bit too much you can also skip the candles standing on the mantle and only use candles to place inside of the fireplace.

It really does not matter what kind of candles you use as all candles are suited. You should try to adjust the size and color of the candles to your interior design and to the design and color of your fireplace. Try to make some contrast between them so they are both noticed and don't use the same colors all over the place.

Fireplace Candle Holders

A fireplace candle holder is also known as a candelabra. Candelabras are most suited for larger fireplaces but there are also some smaller designs available. You can adjust the design of the candelabra to the design of your home interior. If you have your interior styled in a rustic way than you should go for a rustic candelabra, if you are more a contemporary kind of person than you will probably like Victorian or Gothic candelabras more.

Fireplace Screens

If you don't like to use fireplace candles and you just want to fill in the gap, than you can also decide to decorate it with some flowers or a fireplace screen. This is a screen that pictures an actual fireplace and besides the heat, you won't see a big difference.
