Glass candle holder: Providing Attractive Ambiance

A glass candle holder can be used indoors, or outside in the garden. They come in a multitude of different designs. Some are suitable for small tea lights or votives, whereas others are large enough to fit pillar or church candles.

Candle holders are ideal for providing some attractive ambiance, either at the dining table indoors, or outside on a warm summer evening when you have guests around for a spot of alfresco food on your patio or decking.

There is no better way to create a romantic mood than by having a few candles dotted around the area. Nothing says romance quite like a candle. If you have a special dinner planned for a loved one, you need to create the right setting. Harsh lighting will just kill any possible chance of a pleasant end to the evening. Mood lighting is almost as important as the food and wine—in fact, probably more so. If you make a mess of the lighting, your guest will be wrong-footed from the moment they enter the room or garden. Whereas if you get it right, they will immediately feel relaxed and comfortable, and ready to enjoy your pathetic attempts at cordon bleu cooking.

If you are dining outside, try using some attractive scented candles. Scented candles not only look lovely, they also exude a nice fragrance as they burn. The fragrance you choose will probably be a personal choice—some people love floral scents whereas others prefer something muskier. Citronella scented candles placed in glass hurricane candle holders are useful for outside entertaining. Being eaten alive by bugs is guaranteed to ruin the romantic mood almost as fast as sitting under the glare of hi-beam halogen floodlights.

Try placing scented candles in tall glass candle holders as these can look very attractive positioned around the garden. In the house, they can be positioned in empty wine bottles for stability. Another great idea is to use glass votive candle holders designed to hang from trees. These will look beautiful at nighttime. Try suspending several around the garden for a pretty effect.

Candle holders can also be used in other rooms in the home, for example the bedroom or the bathroom. What better way to continue your romantic seduction theme than by placing some pretty tea lights in strategic locations around the bedroom. Tea lights are ideal because they will eventually burn out, thus removing the need for you to actually have to extinguish them. Be careful not to use too many, however, as they do give off heat as well as light.

Bathrooms are great for using glass candle holders as lighting. Soaking in scented water, surrounded by flickering candles, is a wonderful way to relax after a stressful day at the office. If you need to score some brownie points with your other half, then run a hot bath and light some tea lights in candle holders. You will be in the good books for months after, so it is well worth the effort.
