Glass Sconce

A sconce is a type of lighting fixture that is connected to a wall but is only using the wall as support. The light a sconce emits is always directed upwards and it has not base on the ground. A sconce is actually a very traditional form of lighting and torch lights attached to the wall were actually the first ones. Nowadays you can find many different types of sconces and most of them use gas or electricity to emit light. A sconce is often used to illuminate hallways or a corridor to provide enough lighting to walk, but also being a point of interest itself.

Most people will not hang torches on their wall because we don't like to use fire to illuminate our home exterior because of the dangers attached to and electricity is the most popular way to light your sconce. Sconces are often made out of metal, plastic or a combination between metal and glass. Basic glass sconces are made out of simple materials and they are not to fancy. They are durable, look nice and they will do where they are made for, light the area in front of your house. Most glass wall sconces are not directed upwards but in to all directors. Be sure not to choose one that direct the lights upwards or downwards if you want it directed away from the house.
