Japanese Floor Lamps

If you want to decorate your home interior with oriental furniture than you might be looking for Japanese floor lamps. They are made out of a wooden frame and rice paper which is a great mixture. Japanese furniture is known to have rice paper attached to the design and if you add some lights to it you can make yourself a unique looking oriental theme for your home. This article will outlay what kind of Japanese style floor lamps are available.

This is a great example of an authentic looking floor lamp. This is a so called Shoji lamp and it is traditionally crafted. It will fit a 60 watt bulb which will emit a soft glowing light. It will provide you with enough light to see where you are going but it will not illuminate enough light to read a book or magazine. This design is available in multiple finishes and you can use it as a small table or a nightstand. Some people are afraid the paper might tear but when you get your hands on it you will notice it is much stronger than you thought and will not tear easily.

Yet another Japanese floor lamp only a very different design. it is not an authentic crafted lamp but made out of stronger materials in a factory. Fabric is used instead of rice paper and metal instead of wood. Although not made out of authentic materials it still looks like an oriental lamp and that is what is most important. It is about 48" high and available in both white and black. it features a cylindrical pillar with white inlays. This lamp looks great but it is also very functional as it will produce enough light to illuminate a small part of your room.

On the left you see a large xix foot tall Shoji lantern made out of rice paper and a wooden frame. This model is hand crafted and that is why the price is a bit higher than other comparable models. It is imported from Japan where it is made by Japanese craftsmen. These lamps are not intended for bright illumination but for accent lighting. They will emit a soft glowing radiating light that will make your room look oriental. This specific design is available in multiple colors and you can accommodate it with two bulbs up to 150 watts.

On the right you see another Shoji Japanese floor lamp. It is made out of Kiln dried space lattice and reinforced pulp paper. it is available in multiple finishes: Rosewood, Pine, Honey Oak and Black. because of the size of the lamp (27 inches) it is suitable to use as a nightstand but also as a small table in your living room. One or two of these lamps will create the look you want for your living room. You can accommodate these lamps with bulbs up to 60 watts.

With these Japanese style floor lamps it is not difficult to create the oriental look you want. You might add some additional items like a bonsai tree or some wooden sculptures to create an even more realistic design. You have to consider that hand crafted items will cost you considerably more money than the ones that are made in fabrics but you will also notice a difference in design and quality.
