Little did every one know that Billiards is one of the oldest recreational indoor sports in the world. There had been not much information ever since it was invented in the early 1400s because it was labeled outcast by the church, religious organizations and the state.
The first billiard table however, was recorded in the year, 1470, which was seen in the property owned by then King of France, King Louis XI. From the 15th century up to the present time, different designs of the pool table have already come up and been noted, and in the changing generations so as the pool table light changes its designs also to complement with the table. Both are as important as the other and are inevitable partners that one can do without in the game.
An ideal game room is not complete without the carefully chosen pool table light that blends well with the motif inside the family entertainment area. Choosing the proper pool table lighting requires enthusiasm and a lot of patience because there are small details to consider and some adjustments to make before coming up with the final outcome. Good lighting provides a fun-filled game of pools for big enthusiasts. The pool table lights should be properly installed with the correct distances and measurements from point to point of the rays toward the table to have an even distribution of light. The brightness should just be enough and should be relaxing to the eyes of the players. A dull light would strain the eyes and would result to poor shots and cuing, while a very bright light would give glares or reduced vision and would have end up in a bad game too. Another important point to remember is to determine first the height of the light from the table before hanging it permanently on the ceiling. It should be hanged just about thirty-two inches above the table to ensure accurate allocation of light and would not cause accidental hitting of the players’ cues. The main role of the pool table lights is to lighten up only the pool table itself and not the entire room. About sixty-two inches and seventy inches from the floor is the best distance and one can not go wrong when using the bridge of one’s nose as a guide.
Exact and correct setting up of this set of lights will reflect a friendly atmosphere around and somewhat like inviting the guests to take a shot of a billiard round of game. Professionals and neophytes alike will likely want to try to get the feel of the cuing when such lights are beautifully illuminating the pool table and perfectly blending with the whole sports room.
There are different exciting designs to choose from and are available on online websites. It ranges from fun, stylish or classic, with the Tiffany designs more popularly chosen to go with the billiards table.
