A Quoizel chandelier is a stylish and graceful lighting piece made by the Quoizel Company. Michael Chaikin founded Quoizel Lighting in New York, in1930. The unusual name came about from a suggestion by a friend of Michael’s who was interested in astrology, and refers to the conjunction of planets at the time of the company’s birth. The company is now based in Charleston, Southern Carolina, and although it is considerably larger these days, and currently occupies a 500,000 square feet facility, it still remains a family owned and run business.
The Quoizel company ethos is to bring timeless design into the home while building a lasting relationship along the way. They try to avoid fads and trends whilst balancing function and form in order to successfully create beautiful pieces of lighting design. As a result, Quoizel is one of the best-known manufacturers of decorative lighting and accessories for the home in the United States today.
Quoizel chandeliers are suitable for many rooms in the home. They can add style and sparkle to a dining room, or be an accent light in a hall or bedroom. Some types of chandelier are designed with down lights and are great from placing above a table. If used with a dimmer switch, the light intensity from the chandelier can be effectively controlled to suit the mood and activity.
A Quoizel tiffany chandelier is just one of the Quoizel lighting designs that are both timeless and popular. These chandeliers come in a variety of sizes and designs and are suitable for most rooms in the home. They feature beautiful artistic glass design that is handcrafted and arranged in a classic Art Nouveau style. Some chandeliers are embellished with Quoizel prism stones for even greater texture and dimension to the design.
Many of the Tiffany designs used in Quoizel lighting are reproductions of the original Louis Comfort Tiffany designs created decades ago. Other designs are interpretations of Tiffany’s wonderful creations. All of the Quoizel Tiffany range are individual and handcrafted works of art. Each chandelier is a fine example of the artistry involved in light pieces using decorative glass.
Tiffany glass chandeliers look beautiful and are also easy to keep clean. Simply use a soft cloth and wipe the glass down to remove any residual dust. Cleaning products that contain ammonia should be avoided as these can affect the solder used in the partitions between the glass pieces. If the solder does tarnish, the resulting white film can be removed with a light coating of lemon oil.
A Quoizel mini chandelier is suitable for lighting a smaller room. They are not as opulent as a larger light piece, but can still be as decorative. If you were looking for a kitchen or small foyer chandelier, one of a European design would be a very attractive choice. In a period home, such a decorative chandelier will add style and flair to your décor.
If you are looking for a quality, hand crafted lighting piece, a Quoizel chandelier will give you years of attractive service. They are exceptionally well made and offer a quality seldom found in other lighting manufacturers.
