Consumer demand for solar patio lights have been on the rise as more families search for ways to live green and reduce pollution. Solar powered patio lights use energy collected from the sun to provide patio lighting throughout the night.

Using renewable energy to generate power, solar patio lights are highly preferred because they will not deplete the earth's natural resources, and can help to cut or reduce electricity bills.

In addition to economic and environmental benefits, homeowners with installed solar patio lighting are certain their property will have appropriate illumination for walkways, driveways, or stairs. Solar patio lights are practical solutions to keep your property well lit, making it an unlikely target for trespassers and robbers.

Solar powered Patio Lights

When consumers consider solar patio lights for their home, some of them may forget about their pool or deck area. Solar patio umbrella lights help keep you comfortable while sitting poolside during the day, and will provide secure solar lighting for summer night parties.

Some common types of solar powered patio lights are string lights, umbrella, spotlight, stake, and wall scones. String lights are widely popular and can be purchased in different styles including lantern or special shapes.

For outdoor sitting areas or deck tables, solar patio umbrella lights are available as tiny string lights that attach to the umbrella, a stationary light that attaches to the stand, or an umbrella that is completely solar powered.

Solar powered spotlights are primarily used for regular evening activities such as garden work, wood carving, and other outdoor hobbies. Various designs include hanging or ground models.

Staked solar patio lights are typically used for ground lighting on pathways and other areas of the front or back yard. Each light has a panel control system that absorbs solar power from the sun.

Solar Wall Sconce

A wall scone is a type of solar panel light that can be attached to  areas of the outside wall providing illumination in corners or other dark locations. Equipped with a sensor that automatically starts at dusk, solar patio lights can be manually set according to your lighting preferences.

To fully utilize your solar powered patio lights, it is important that they are placed in a location where the solar panel is exposed to as much sunlight as possible during the day. Avoid placing solar patio lights in partially shaded areas. Without full exposure to the sun, your solar patio lighting will be significantly diminished.
